Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia 2024 launch in Baile Átha Cliath - 11/01/2024

Gráinne Seoige, Kayleigh Trappe and Aindriú de Paor named as ambassadors for #SnaG24 with just 50 days until the festival begins

The official ambassadors of Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia have been announced today at a launch at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Baile Átha Cliath. Gráinne Seoige, Kayleigh Trappe and Aindriú de Paor have been announced as ambassadors for the 2024 festival.

Gráinne Seoige is a television presenter and journalist, originally from An Spidéal, Gaillimh. Kayleigh Trappe is an online creator from Monaghan, drawing a significant following on TikTok in recent years. Aindriú de Paor is a radio presenter from Tipperary, working with RTÉ 2FM, RTÉ Sport and Spórt TG4. 

At the panel discussion today, the ambassadors spoke about their experiences with the Irish language and the ways they will be using Irish during the festival and further throughout the year. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daithí de Róiste, was in attendance for the launch of the #SnaG24 ambassadors.

 

Speaking today, Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia ambassador, Gráinne Seoige said:

 “With only 50 days to go to Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia 2024, the spirit of the festival is strong and there is a huge momentum to make this year’s festival bigger and more vibrant than ever. I’m looking forward to seeing all the brilliant events taking place during Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia and I wish all the groups luck in organising and planning for the festival over the next 50 days!”

 

Conchubhair Mac Lochlainn, Cathaoirleach of Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia, commented at today’s launch:

 “We are delighted to announce today the Seachtain na Gaeilge ambassadors for 2023, and we are very happy to have three fantastic ambassadors with us this year. The three ambassadors have unique and interesting stories about their experiences with the Irish language, and they will be sharing these stories as they promote Irish on the national and international stage from 1-17 March.

During the festival, we are very much looking forward to seeing events being held in communities across Ireland, in the Gaeltacht, in our towns and cities and further afield. Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia is an opportunity for communities across Ireland to use, practice and learn Irish together.”

 

The festival team has put together a list of 50 ways people can prepare themselves for Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia 2024 over the next 50 days. These and other festival resources can be seen on snag.ie 

Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia will be officially launched in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Baile Bhláinséir on Saturday, February 24th 2024 at 14:00. The annual event is held from 1-17 March, with Irish language events taking place across Ireland and around the world during the festival.
