A deep retrofit can help bring your home to a high level of energy efficiency. Retrofitting means vastly improving the energy rating of an existing home by upgrading multiple aspects of its structure and energy systems.

Do I qualify for deep retrofit grant funding?

Was your home:

Built and occupied before 2011 for insulation, heating controls and renewable systems grants

Does your home:

Have an existing BER of D2 or lower and achieve at least a BER of B2 on work completion.

Your home:

Has not previously received grants for the same home energy upgrades

How do deep retrofit projects work?

Homeowners can choose the best energy upgrade for their home and view the cash amount that the SEAI & Energia will contribute towards the cost of the upgrade. Ordinarily, homeowners would have to pay for all work and claim back the grants at a later date. The benefits of upgrading your home with Energia are:

  • We discount the deep retrofit grant up-front, so you do not have to wait for the grant
  • We carry out all works, not just one or two measures
  • We organise the BER for you
  • We hold the highest level of insurances
  • We are members of the Construction Industry Register of Ireland
