Are smart meter plans worth it?

Smart meter plans are generally worth it as they offer several benefits. With a smart meter, you get accurate billing based on real-time energy usage, eliminating estimated bills. You can monitor and manage your consumption more effectively, often saving money by using electricity during off-peak hours with tailored tariffs like day/night or EV Smart Drive plans.

What is the downside of a smart meter?

Smart meters do have a few downsides to consider. Once installed, you can’t switch back to a traditional meter. Also, in some rural areas, weak signal strength can affect automatic readings, so you might need to submit readings manually now and then.

I have a day/night meter, can I get a smart meter?

Yes, you can upgrade to a smart meter even if you currently have a day/night meter. Once you choose your preferred plan, you can complete the switch online. If you opt for a smart meter plan, we will contact you within a few days to move forward with your application.

What are the off-peak times for smart meters?

For most Energia smart plans, off-peak hours are between 11pm and 8am. Some plans also include ultra-low-cost charging windows, such as 2am–6am for EV charging.

I have a day/night meter, can I get a smart meter?

Yes, you can upgrade to a smart meter even if you currently have a day/night meter.

Excellent experience with Sales Rep

I just changed to Energia as my gas and electricity supplier. Usually I'm very slow to switch suppliers as I'm always too busy to look into it and never have time to talk to reps at the door, who usually confuse me with numbers. This week an Energia rep, Arpit Maheshwar, showed up and 10 mins later I had switched. He gave such a simple explanation, could answer every question honestly and basically made it seem like a no-brainer to move. Also, I didn't feel under any pressure, he just made it make sense.
